FOUNDER

Our founder Shri Pradeep Krishnan was born in Adinad Village of Karunagapally town, Kollam district in the southern state of Kerala in the year 1962. He is a noted Bharatanatyam exponent and has been training children in Indian classical dance and music in Bhopal, M.P for more than 30 years. Some of his disciples have and performed at various National and International stages.

He had a keen interest in classical dance from an early age. He was introduced to classical dance by Shri. K Balakrishnan at the age of 12. Later, he studied the nuances of classical dance, especially Bharatanatyam, under Guru Shri. P.S.A Manu, a renowned Bharatanatyam Guru and an exponent in Indian traditional arts. Under Guru Manu’s guidance he honed his skills in Bharatanatyam and other Indian classical dance forms, besides learning the basics of Carnatic music.

He moved to Bhopal in the year 1983 and eventually took formal education in Carnatic music from noted Carnatic music exponent Mrs. C. Padmawati Rao. He also learned Hindustani music under a well known exponent, Guru Pt. Siddharam Swamy Korwar.

Aiming to keep the rich traditions of Indian culture, dance and music forms alive and pass it on to the next generation, he formed Kalanjali. Ever since, he has been trying to reach out to young kids and train them in various classical dance forms and Carnatic music.

For his contribution towards classical dance, Shri. Pradeep Krishnan has been bestowed with numerous awards and honors including “Hindi Seva Samman” of MP Government handed over by the Honorable Governor of Madhya Pradesh.
